SAP Central Finance across 40 countries, enabling a major divestment
Appointed by the CFO to lead SAP Central Finance for the world's largest dairy exporter, moving finance from decentralised country P&Ls to a centralised shared services model.
40countries centralised onto one finance model
Challenge
Finance was run through decentralised country P&Ls across 40 countries, with many ERPs, charts of accounts and definitions of key metrics. The business needed one trusted view of performance, and a structure that would support a divisional divestment.
What I did
- Led global R2R process design and standardisation with the finance team and EY as systems integrator.
- Led operating model redesign with McKinsey and EY, restructuring finance into a centralised shared services model.
- Defined which roles would change or be centralised, and planned the people transition across 40 countries.
- Trained and embedded finance teams in the new R2R model, and delivered global commercial reporting on pricing, profitability and margin.
